Bruce Lane completed his 6th season at ACS with an overall record of 132-88-1. The Lions Finished the 2007 season with a record of 10-3 and State Runner-Ups losing to Hammond School 17-14 in the Title Game.
The 2006 Lions returned to the State Title game in 2006. They were defeated 28-17 by Hammond School to finish the year with a record of 10-3. The 2005 squad finished with a 12-1 mark and the schools 1st ever state title. His first Five Lions teams have posted a record of 45-18, including a region championship in 2002 and the SCISA Title in 2005.He also served as the Head Coach of the SCISA South All-Stars this year leading them to a 10-0 win over the North Squad. He also Coached the 2007 Lady Lions Track Team to a SCISA State Tittle and was named Coach of the Year by the SCISA Coaches Association.
He has served as Head Football Coach at Monroe Academy (1988-1993), Georgia Military College Prep School (1994), John Milledge Academy (1995-2000), and Southland Academy 2000-2002.
He is a graduate of John Milledge Academy(1980) where he received 4 varsity letters in Track and 4 in Football. He was named All-Region in football twice (1978 and 1979) and served as Team Captain his Senior Year. He signed to play college football with Maryville College and lead his team in scoring his Freshman year. He returned to Georgia College to finish his degree in Political Science in 1984.
Lane is married to the former Chris Miller of Milledgeville and they have one son Christian who is a member of the 2007 Squad Augusta Christian. They are members of West Acres Baptist Church in Evans.
In his 24 year career Lane has had 17 young men go on to the collegiate level. Including Former John Milledge Running Back J.T. Wall who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2003 and Current Georgia Southern Assistant Coach Shawn Bostick.
